AC-21 is an evolution of AL-12 ultra light sailplane. The evolution of the previous design has been aimed to:
Review the design of the sailplane in order to fully comply with established by DULV and DAeC requirements of LTF-UL 2003 including additions for ultra light powered sailplanes.
Improve operational safety in unfavourable take-off conditions including high temperature, high altitude airfields, strong thermal activity or bigger pilots.
Improve fuselage aerodynamics, enclosing engine installation completely, and provide more room for bigger pilots.
Keep such advantages of the previous design as low price, transportability by a car and compact storage.
The project took us two years of hard work and now is on a stage of final flight tests and start of serial production.
An aerodynamic configuration of AC-21 is similar to the previous design and has already proved its efficiency. So, most of the work was concentrated on redesign and testing of structural components, including new fuselage and the new engine unit.
The structure of AC-21 has been dimensioned according to actual requirements for ultra light powered sailplanes resulting in limit load factor increase from +4 -2 to +5.3 -2.65 G.
Engine power has been increased by 33 % over previous design by installation of 28HP Hirth F 33 BS.

The new fuselage improves aerodynamics and leaves more room for bigger pilots. At the same time it allows to enclose engine installation completely, including the propeller that was partially outside in the previous design.

Four-segment engine doors significantly improve aerodynamics with engine out, favourably influencing both climb and engine out cruise performances.

We accept orders to set a AC-21 production program for 2010 that is going to be limited by manufacturing capacity.

The first sailplane ordered and prepaid before the end of this year will be ready for the delivery at the end of May 2010! At the initial stage manufacturing capacity is going to be a sailplane per month. Later we plan to increase the output according to the number of orders.

27,000.-- EUR
AC-21 with standard set of instruments, w/o rescue system,
w/o VAT, EXW Kiev basis

21,500.-- EUR
AC-21 w/o engine, with standard set of instruments, w/o rescue system,
w/o VAT, EXW Kiev basis
