Dear friends,
By first of June we have finished the EN test for all sizes of the Zephyr, including the Zephyr XS.
We have decided to certified this size as well since the demand is bigger than expected and we want to offer a fully certifed range of gliders in all sizes.
The certification process was done by AEROTEST- France- directed by Vicent Teulier at the lake of Pobla de Segur, (Spanish Pirenees).
We send you here the results and the names of the pilot involved during the test.
By checking the results is impresive to see the response of the Zephyr to all the tests, specially to the assymetrical collapses. The Zephyr reopens by itself in less of a 90 º turn (this is A) and only some sizes got a B (turn less of 180º) when fully accelerated.In fact out of 24 collapsing maneuvers (4 sizes by 3 collapses and by 3 collapses full speed) we got 20 A’s and only 4 B’s
More over: the size L passed full A in all maneuvers at maximum weight.
Saying this we are now more convinced that in despite of the great performance shown by the Zephyr in speed and glide this is an easy and recreational intermediate wing challanging even some school wings in tuck resistance and easy inflation.
There is a huge interest now on this glide after a test published this week by Parapente Mag showing again a glide over 9 and a trim speed close to a tandem wing. We will send you this article in the next newsletter. Stay tuned.
